Soi, autrement — Beyond the familiar self explores what remains of the self when familiar points of reference begin to shift and balance no longer depends on stability, but on the ability to re-form.
Dark masses emerge within a largely open field, carrying earthy tones, deep greens and flashes of golden ochre. They appear at once grounded and unsettled, as though their shape were deliberately left in a state of becoming. Around them, finer marks, erasures and expanses of quiet space create a sense of breathing room, resisting any fixed conclusion.
Across the upper part of the painting, a luminous line moves through the composition. It connects without containing, extending beyond the denser forms toward a more uncertain territory. Elsewhere, gestures intersect, break away or nearly disappear into the surrounding light.
